The 2027 Pediatric Chaplains Network Conference explores the intersection of spiritual care, resilience, and transformation in the lives of children and families facing health challenges. Gathering along the Mississippi River in Memphis, Tennessee, we will explore the theme “Pediatric Chaplaincy at the River’s Edge.” Rivers have long symbolized transition, perseverance, healing, renewal, and connection. As pediatric chaplains, we often meet children, families, and colleagues at life’s river edges, places of uncertainty, transformation, grief, hope, and profound meaning. Together, we will reflect on how chaplaincy accompanies others through these moments while navigating the evolving currents of healthcare, culture, and spiritual care practice.

Call for Proposals:

The river is never still. It shapes the landscape even as it is shaped by it. As pediatric chaplains, we stand at the river’s edge alongside children, families, healthcare teams, and one another, bearing witness to stories of suffering, courage, hope, and healing.

We invite you to share your wisdom, research, experiences, and vision as we gather in Memphis to explore where pediatric chaplaincy has been, where it is today, and where it is being called next.

Submit your proposal and help shape the future of pediatric chaplaincy.

Theme Presentations (60-90 minutes)

The PCN Advisory Council invites presentation proposals that relate to the conference theme, “Pediatric Chaplaincy at the River’s Edge”. Please include 2 to 3 peer-reviewed article citations that you will include in your presentation.

Workshops/Special Topics (60 minutes)

Workshops and Special Topics provide an opportunity for participants to gather in smaller break-out sessions to explore topics of common interest. Do you have a workshop you’d like to lead, a program you’d like to introduce, or a discussion you’d like to facilitate?
